Dear Pinewood Parents,
Over the past couple of days, we sent out some very important information regarding food services and the drop-off and pick-up procedures for the new campus. You can find these communications below:

As you all know, the first day of school is this Monday, 12 September. School begins at 8:20 and ends at 15:00. After-school activities run from 15:10-16:10.
Activities will begin Monday, 26 September.
Please remember the staggered drop-off times for the first week of school only.
- 8:15 - grades 5 and 6
- 8:25 - grades 3 and 4
- 8:35 - grades 1 and 2
- 8:45 - EY and Kindergarten

New Faculty and Staff
We have a number of new faculty and staff in our early years and elementary divisions. You will have the opportunity to meet them all on Parent’s Night - Wednesday, 14 September, 17:00-19:00.
Ms. Carolyn Tzimoulis is our new Early Years and Elementary administrative officer. She will be working at the front desk, greeting you when you visit and answering your calls. You can reach the EY/Elementary division on number: 2310 398 460

Attendance Update
If your child will be absent, be sure to notify the school. You can call (2310398460) or email tzimoulis@pinewood-school.gr. If we do not hear from you, we will attempt to reach you that same day. |

|
Covid Update
The committee of epidemiological experts has decided to fully exempt children from the mandatory use of masks and self-testing. When, and if, symptoms appear, a self-diagnostic test is recommended. If a child is infected, it is recommended that s/he remain isolated at home for five days.
|
|
|
|
|
After the five-day period and, if there are no symptoms or if symptoms improve and there is no fever for 24 hours without antipyretics, the isolation can end. When the child returns to school after isolation, they do so with the mandatory use of a high respiratory protection mask (N95, KN95 or FFP2) or double mask for at least another five (5) days after the end of the isolation period.

Parents' Corner
Our website, www.pinewood.gr, has a section specifically for parents to find important information about events at the school, teachers’ emails, supply lists, the school calendar, and more. We will upload there all communication as well. So save this URL to your favorites.

Pinewood Planner
Every Wednesday, our communications officer sends out the Pinewood Planner. This is a communication to parents that provides you with information about the previous week’s happenings at school as well as upcoming events. Be sure to check your email on Wednesday afternoons for the Pinewood Planner.
In addition to the Pinewood Planner, our teachers use ClassDojo as the primary method of communication between teachers, students and parents. If you have not connected to your child’s class on ClassDojo yet, please let us know and we will ensure you get connected.

Uniform Update
At Pinewood, we expect our students to wear the Pinewood uniform for PE. Your child has PE two days a week and will wear their uniform on these two days to school. They also wear uniforms for field trips and other school events. You can purchase our uniform at the Hondos Center, which is located across the street from IKEA.

PYP Update
This year, we will continue the process of becoming an IB continuum school. We will have an authorization visit this spring. We will be asking for parents to participate in this process. Additionally, we will begin PYP with the Principal. Once a month, parents will meet with me to discuss what the PYP means for their children. More information will be shared on this later.

|
Laptops and Devices Update
At Pinewood, we institute the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) policy in grades 3 and up. Please ensure that your child brings their device every day to school with a charger and earphones (not earbuds). For specifications on which device to choose, there is information at the end of your teacher’s supply list.
